Pro Bono

At Syarawi Architect, we believe in giving back to our community and supporting causes that align with our values.

As a part of our commitment to social responsibility, we are pleased to offer pro-bono architectural services to eligible charities and foundations.

We recognize that not all organizations have the resources to invest in professional design services, and we want to do our part to help where we can. Through this service, we hope to contribute to the betterment of our community by providing our expertise in design to help those who are making a difference.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. The organization must be a registered charity or foundation that has been in operation for at least two years and has a documented history of working towards social or environmental causes.

  2. The organization must have a clear and defined mission statement that is publicly available and aligned with the values of the architectural firm providing the pro-bono service.

  3. The organization must provide proof of financial stability, including audited financial statements from the past two years, and demonstrate a need for architectural services, such as the design or renovation of a physical space that will support their mission.

  4. The organization must provide a detailed brief of their requirements for the architectural service, including the project scope, timeline, budget (if any), and any other relevant information that may impact the project.

  5. The organization must have a designated point of contact who can liaise with the architectural firm and provide timely feedback throughout the project.

Terms & Conditions

The architectural firm will provide pro-bono services up to a maximum of 50 man hours of design work or a specific project scope as agreed upon in the initial agreement. Any additional work beyond the agreed scope or hours will be subject to a separate agreement. The architectural firm reserves the right to terminate the project at any time if the charity/foundation fails to meet their obligations, provides inaccurate or incomplete information, or if the project scope changes significantly from the original agreement. The charity/foundation agrees to provide all necessary information and materials needed for the architectural firm to complete the project, including but not limited to site surveys, existing drawings, photos, and any relevant codes or regulations. The charity/foundation agrees to give full credit to the architectural firm for their pro-bono work on any public-facing materials related to the project, including but not limited to website, social media, and press releases. The charity/foundation agrees to provide a testimonial and/or other form of recognition to the architectural firm upon completion of the project, which may be used for future marketing or promotional purposes. The architectural firm retains the rights to any intellectual property created during the project, including but not limited to design concepts, drawings, plans, and specifications. The charity/foundation may use these materials solely for the purposes of constructing the project and may not modify or reproduce them without written consent from the architectural firm. The charity/foundation agrees to cover any additional expenses related to the project, such as permit fees, materials, and construction costs, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. The architectural firm may provide guidance on these costs but is not responsible for any additional expenses beyond the agreed-upon project scope. The architectural firm reserves the right to use the project as a case study or portfolio piece for future marketing purposes, including but not limited to website, social media, and marketing materials. The charity/foundation may use the project for their own marketing and promotional purposes with the written consent of the architectural firm. The architectural firm will claim reasonable and necessary travelling/transport costs incurred for on-site visits related to the project, such as airfare, car rental, and public transportation. Accommodation costs related to on-site visits will also be claimable if required. All such costs shall be pre-approved in writing by the charity/foundation prior to incurring any expenses. This agreement represents the entire understanding between the parties and supersedes all prior discussions, agreements, and understandings related to the pro-bono architectural service. Any modifications or amendments to this agreement must be in writing and signed by both parties.

*Please note that our firm will only be selecting one pro-bono project to be executed each year, and therefore not all applications may be successful. We will carefully consider all applications and select the project that aligns most closely with our values and mission, has the greatest potential positive impact on the community, and meets the other eligibility requirements outlined above.
